
Artist Bio
Jeanne Guertin-Potoff is an accomplished artist with a diverse background in painting, drawing, and mixed media. Her artistic journey has been marked by a series of distinguished exhibitions, awards, and extensive professional development.

Jeanne’s multidisciplinary approach reflects a lifelong balance between analytical and creative thinking, influenced by her upbringing with a musically gifted mother and an engineer-inventor father. This dynamic foundation has informed her artistic exploration and fostered her ability to merge multiple forms of expression. Her collaboration with poet Don McLagan further exemplifies this fusion, blending visual and literary arts to create meaningful works that resonate on multiple levels.

Jeanne’s work has been featured in several prominent museum group exhibitions, including those held at the Florence Griswold Museum, Mystic Museum of Art, New Britain Museum of American Art, Newport Art Museum, and Slater Memorial Museum. In addition to her museum exposure, her work has appeared in numerous other group shows such as those held at Art Center Manatee, Art Center Sarasota, Earth & Fire Gallery, the Lyme Art Association and West Hartford Art League. Notably, Jeanne has participated in numerous juried shows at Art Center Sarasota, earning accolades and prizes.. Her solo exhibition, Adjusting Focus, also took place at Art Center Sarasota in 2023. Jeanne's creativity was recognized early on when she received the "Most Creative" award at the Paint the Point show in Newport, RI, in 2001.

Throughout her artistic career, Jeanne has pursued a rigorous path of professional development, studying under esteemed artists such as Wolf Kahn, Skip Lawrence, Aviva Gold, and Julie Hanson. She also completed intensive workshops with notable instructors like Diane Aeschliman, Joann Ballinger, Christopher Zhang, Terry Oakes-Bouret, and Barbara Eisenberg. Her studies include specialized training in cold wax and oils under Pam Caughey and advanced techniques in collage, portrait drawing, and landscape painting.

Jeanne's artistic focus spans multiple disciplines, including oil, acrylic, and cold wax painting, alongside collage, pastels, encaustic painting, and serigraphy. Her exploration of ceramics further enriches her creative versatility.

A dedicated member of several art organizations, Jeanne has been an active participant in Art Center Sarasota, West Hartford Art League, Guilford Art Center, River Valley Artists, and Women Contemporary Artists and The Cove Connection.
